If you’re here because feeding feels stressful, messy, or confusing—take a slow calming, breath.
Then look with your loving gaze at your sweet baby. And,…exhale with a deep sigh.
Getting an experienced set of eyes and a reassuring presence can make a huge difference because breastfeeding is a relationship—and relationships take time to find their rhythm.
Yes, we have heard the soundbite that “breastfeeding is natural”. And it’s also a learned skill—for both baby and the feeding parent. It often takes time, practice, and gentle guidance to find your footing.
What you can expect from my support
Support is individualized, non-judgmental, and tailored to you and your baby’s needs. And, we know that those will continue to change and unfold over time. Very little in this parenthood experience is stagnant!
This is not one-size-fits-all advice. It’s thoughtful, practical care that helps you feel more steady—so your baby can feel more steady too.
What if you didn’t have to figure this out alone?
What if support could feel like someone calmly helping you turn the lights on—so you can see what’s happening and choose your next step with confidence?
Reasons families reach out
I support families who want help with:
- Latch and positioning (comfort + effectiveness)
- Nipple pain, soreness, or “something doesn’t feel right”
- Milk supply questions (low supply, oversupply, pumping plans)
- Sleepy baby, frequent feeds, or baby who seems frustrated at the breast
- Weight gain concerns and “are they getting enough?”
- Engorgement, clogged ducts, early feeding “bumps in the road”
- Pumping, bottles, combination feeding, and returning to work
If you’re not sure what category you’re in, that’s okay—many families reach out simply to start a conversation.
Start strong: prenatal lactation support
A prenatal visit or private prenatal breastfeeding class can provide a solid foundation for optimizing a great start—because confidence is built before you’re exhausted, sore, and trying to troubleshoot at 2 a.m.
Think of it as a calm, private “feeding orientation”:
- How milk production works (and what truly supports it early on)
- What to expect in the first hours/days
- How to set up your environment for easier latching
- What’s normal, what’s fixable, and when to get help
This private, individualized feeding class is a “jump start” that helps you feel prepared for the most common twists and turns.
This may be covered fully by insurance. More below.
Postpartum lactation consultation: what’s included
In an initial postpartum visit, we focus on what’s happening right now—and build a plan that fits your baby, your body, and your life. I come to you to see your family in your home to make recommendations based on your unique feeding environment.
The initial postpartum consultation includes:
- 1.5- 2 hours in-home with a feeding observation
- Pre- and post-feeding weight
- Parent + baby health history
- A mutually agreed upon plan of care
This service also includes:
- A written feeding care plan
- Communication with your medical provider as needed
- Ongoing text support for up to 2 weeks
Sometimes follow-up support is the missing piece—because complex feeding challenges often improve through small adjustments over time, not one quick fix.
